In our most recent meeting, we sorted out who was doing what during sports relief and our assembly. The sports relief activities consisted of many things :

KS1 prize is a delicious sugar- free treat baked by Mrs Hitchcock .KS2 prize is 10 FREE tuck shop tokens (one per day). by Natalie and Freia In the meeting, we did a boundary check and had a sugar smart discussion.
First, we talked to the year 5 school council about how the tuck shop is sugar smart. Then, we discussed who was doing switch posters. We also thought about doing an assembly about being sugar smart. We then walked around the boundary of the school. All of the boundarys were ok. written by Natalie and Freia (chair and vice chair of school council) We had a special meeting about our sugar smart school. First, me and Freia made a display about sugar from slides from Mrs Dentith's
In our meeting, we chose very carefully who won the calendar competition. The theme was how much we love the village .School council chose 12 of the best posters to go on the calendar. All of them were brilliant ,and they were all acknowledged.
In our second meeting of the year, we practiced our readings for the harvest festival. After that, Mrs Cole came into the meeting to talk to us about science. She wanted to get an award for the school but to get that award she had to talk to us. We told her things like what we liked, what we disliked and what we would like to see more of.
In our first meeting, we all introduced ourselves and learnt each other's names. Freia and I took everyone's pictures. We talked to Mrs Wright about what our roles were and what we will be doing in school council this year.
Mrs Wright also gave us Harvest poems to practice at home. Natalie and I then were given the job of taking and printing pictures to go upon the wall. Then Mrs Wright informed us about writing this blog and the agenda and the minutes of school council meetings . Thank you very much for reading about our school council by Freia Wilson (chair) and Natalie Churchward (vice chair) Today in our school council meeting, we discussed our school dinners. We all had a chance to say our thoughts on them. Mrs Welch has asked us to think of a new name for PSHE and we had a few ideas: HHH (healthy bodies Healthy brains and Healthy living) and being healthy. She will consider our ideas. Our chair and vice are looking for a new bench to replace the pirate ship which, unfortunately, has reached the end of its life and is being retired!
Today we had a school council meeting. We were joined by Mrs Dentith. We talked about maybe getting coding club back running again, but first we have to find someone to run it. We have gone to Mr Everson for some ideas, as school council can't think of any.
We also talked about how some people are bringing chocolate and sweets in their packed lunches. It is not everyone, it only some people. So to encourage the children to bring in healthy lunches, we will be giving out stickers to anyone who brings in a healthy lunch. Then once lunch break is over, they can put a tick in a chart that will be kept in their classroom. Then once they have filled the chart, they will get an extra play. KS1 will have to fill in 15 ticks and KS2 will have 30. We are also thinking about getting a reading corner in each classroom, but we still need to ask the teachers about it though. This will give the opportunities for children to relax and just read. We are still working on the friendship stop rota. The friendship stop is were children go when they have nobody to play with. Hopefully there is someone else who is there who can play with them.
Jagoda is going to ask Mrs Weldon about the dining tables and see whether we can borrow some money from the PTFA for new ones. We want new ones because the seats on the old ones are slanted. Mr Naylor fixed the ones he could. Next week we will be introducing clubs for Reception children run by the ambassadors in Yr6. The clubs will take place during lunch times. The children will be given the opportunity to go to one club a week. Some of the clubs will be: football club, art club and story club. Thank you for reading this. We will update you soon. |
